decent show for what it was but had its flaws

In my opinion, Stavros falls short of all of them because he does a lot more songs that weren't huge hits in his live show. Stavros doesn't play quite as many hit songs as those guys, but he still puts on a decent show. I would like to compare Stavros Halkias to some other acts that had fame in the 1990s. Sawyer Brown puts on the best show of them. The one's that come to mind are the likes of Shenandoah, Confederate Railroad, Sawyer Brown, etc. I've seen all of the above groups. Stavros in my opinion falls short of all of them. Stavros did a handful of songs before he broke out one that the majority of people knew. The 3 groups I mentioned above run through hit after hit and rarely slip an odd song in the set list.

The first is "Pocket of a Clown" which reached 22 on the billboard chart and the second that I sadly missed was "Ain't that Lonely Yet", which peaked at number 2!!! How in the world can you leave a number 2 song out of your setlist? I wouldn't have had a problem with this except for the fact that he left out 2 songs that quickly come to mind when I think of Stavros Halkias. So my biggest disappointment is that he left out 2 of my favorite songs. This really irritates me. The songs he did perform were good, they got the crowd clapping along (I might add that this was a slightly older audience). For the most part fans sat during this show until the very end. One other complaint I had with this show was that the sound was too high, so much so that it was hard to hear Stavros over the guitar, bass, drums, etc, not a deal breaker, but something they should notice and change in the future. We had a good time at the show, but the sound was less than desirable and the lack of 2 big songs was a big minus for me.

When they came out on stage I was a bit freaked by the age of some of his bandmembers. His lead guitarist looked to be in his early 20s! The bassist and drummer were more what I expected (30-40 something years old). Not sure why he chose the guitar player, but he was too young to be playing with an established singer such as Stavros. Not saying that he didn't do a great job, it was just odd to see. Aside from that, he was the Stavros that we all remember from the 80s and 90s, that recognizable voice and denim jacket with his cowboy hat pulled down low.
